Join us for an inspiring celebration as we commemorate the International Day of the Girl and honor the remarkable achievements of women in our community! Girls Inc. of TN Valley invites you to our signature annual event dedicated to empowering and recognizing the potential of girls.

Celebration Highlights:
This year's Day of the Girl Luncheon will feature a special program celebrating the accomplishments of girls and women who exemplify our core values of being strong, smart, and bold. The event will include inspiring stories from program participants, community impact highlights, and recognition of those making a difference in the lives of girls across our region.

Keynote Speaker: Lindsay Kaldon
We are thrilled to announce Lindsay Kaldon as our keynote speaker for this year's celebration. Lindsay is the Senior Advisor for Space Nuclear Systems, Space Technology Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters. Prior to that, she was the Fission Surface Power Project Manager at NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Before joining NASA in 2023, she served as the Technical Lead and Deputy Program Manager for the Navy's Electromagnetic Pulse Office at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia.

Lindsay has over 10 years of experience working in the Department of Defense on unmanned intelligence aircraft for both the Navy and the Air Force. She began her professional career as an Air Force electronic warfare officer on the high-altitude U-2 and Global Hawk aircraft. Lindsay holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Evansville, a professional certificate in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State where her research focused on radioisotope power and nuclear propulsion systems. She is currently a Captain in the Air Force Reserves serving part time within Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate at Kirtland AFB, NM. In her spare time, she enjoys flying and has a Private Pilot's License with Instrument Rating.

Lindsay's remarkable career journey perfectly embodies the strong, smart, and bold values we celebrate at Girls Inc., making her an inspiring voice for our community of girls and women.

Strong, Smart, Bold Awards:
As a centerpiece of our celebration, we will present our annual Strong, Smart, Bold Awards honoring outstanding women who demonstrate exceptional leadership, courage, and dedication to creating opportunities for the next generation.

Nominations are open until September 24th, 2025. We invite you to nominate deserving candidates who embody the spirit of Girls Inc. and inspire others through their actions and achievements.
