The Knoxville Gem and Mineral Society (KGMS) are hosting their 32nd Annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show at the Rothchild Conference Center in Knoxville, Tennessee from October 20 to 22, 2023.

This annual show is a must see for rock connoisseurs, professionals, amateurs and anyone with a love and fascination for gems, minerals, fossils, and other mineralogical and geological wonders.

What to expect:
A selection of vendors offering great products including a wide variety of jewelry, rare fossil and mineral specimens, meteorites, gems of all colors, shapes and sizes, lapidary & jewelry equipment, and much more.

Activities for children include searching through gravel from the Aurora Phosphate Mine for fossils and sharks teeth, and fossil plaster casting.

In addition to the vendors and specimens on exhibit, KGMS will host an identification table. They will have a panel of local experts on hand to help attendees identify their special rocks, minerals, and fossils. This service will be available each day until one hour before closing.

Dates, Times, Prices:
The show will be open on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October from 10am until 6pm. The show will also open on Sunday 22 October from 11am until 5pm.

The Gem Show is open to the public and has an admission fee of $8 per day for adults, or $15 to attend the full weekend. Children under 12 can attend for free.

About the Knoxville Gem and Mineral Society:
The Knoxville Gem and Mineral Society (KGMS) is a nonprofit, educational and scientific interest group that meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30pm. It is a family-oriented organization with members from all walks of life who share an interest in studying, collecting, and sharing rocks, minerals and fossils. In addition to the monthly meetings, there are weekend picnics in May and September, along with a holiday party in December.

Every year the KGMS presents the Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show. The proceeds from the annual show supports a principal goal of the KGMS, which is education. The KGMS provides enrichment programs and educational materials to east Tennessee Schools and scholarships in the Earth Sciences.
