UT Economist Joins White House Advisory Board

Marianne Wanamaker, an associate professor of economics in the Haslam College of Business, has been named to the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board co-chaired by Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump.

Wanamaker will join the CEOs of Apple, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Siemens USA, Visa, SAP America, Walmart, Lockheed Martin, and Home Depot as well as other private sector professionals, the governors of Iowa and Indiana, and leaders of education institutions and nonprofits.

Professor Wanamaker sat down with Todd Steed to discuss her work both on campus and in Washington. 

 

 

A Knoxville native, Todd began working at WUOT in 2006 as jazz coordinator now serves as music director and host of Studio 865/Flipside, Improvisations and Changing Course. Todd's newest podcast is Improvisations to Go. Todd got his start in radio at WUTK, where he served as both news and music director while earning his undergraduate degree in journalism at UT. He later earned a master’s degree in education, also at UT. Recently, Todd was inducted into the East Tennessee Writer's Hall of Fame.
