Knoxville Opera is presenting a comedy double-bill: Mozart's The Impresario and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. The performances will take place, as usual, at the Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville on Friday, October 26th and Sunday, October 28th. Artistic Director, Brian Saleksy, has put a modern and local "spin" on Mozart's classic by writing an English translation that sets the opera right here and right now in Knoxville, Tennessee. Opera "hopefuls" audition for the Impresario (played by Sean Anderson) for a chance to perform in the opera company's production of Gianni Schicchi, which will be performed with the newly cast opera stars after the intermission. Knoxville Opera fans will see several familiar faces on the stage at the Tennessee Theatre, including Scott Bearden (baritone), Andrew Wentzel (bass), Perry Ward (baritone), and Daniel Berry (bass).
