Violinist Robyn Bollinger And The KSO Perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will present several timeless masterpieces on their next Masterworks performance. On the program is Beethoven's Egmont Overture, the fifth symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich, and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, featuring violinist Robyn Bollinger.

A recent graduate of the New England Conservatory, Ms. Bollinger is no stranger to radio and has been featured on APM's "Performance Today", as well as NPR's "From the Top." She has performed all over the United States as a soloist and chamber musician and has just concluded the tour of her multimedia performance project "Ciaccona: The Bass of Time."

The concert is Thursday, October 18th and Friday, October 19th at 7:30pm and will be presented at the beautiful Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville. More information available online at knoxvillesymphony.com or by phone at 865-291-3310

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
