On Thursday and Friday, May 10th and 11th, Marble City Opera will present Dominick Argento's one-act opera, Postcard from Morocco. Performances will be given at the Jackson Terminal, located in the "Old City" of downtown Knoxville. The opera takes place at a train station. There are seven characters in the opera, each attached to a specific item and each on his/her way to some unknown destination. Although there is not a specific storyline, per se, the opera highlights human cruelty, and the resulting armor we all put up: the acts of questioning others' motivations and being suspicious of one another, without really taking the time to see our commonalities and being completely unaware of a "puppet master" who is skillfully controlling us. Performances are at 8pm. More information online at marblecityopera.com
