Matthew Motley speaks with composition professor Dr. Ryan Lindveit and composer-performer and songwriter Tanner Porter about UT's upcoming Contemporary Music Festival.

On March 2-3 UT's annual Contemporary Music Festival returns! This year's programming features recitals of the music of guest artist Tanner Porter, new works from composition students, a documentary screening and improvised set, as well as guest lectures and masterclasses.

All events are free and open to the public, a full schedule and additional information can be found here.

A Kansas native, Matthew began his journey south by attending the University of Georgia. It was here that he got his start in public radio, working on WUGA’s classical program Night Music. After graduating in 2024 with degrees in music and computer science, Matthew joined WUOT as host of the Afternoon Concert.
