Tuba Christmas Returns to Knoxville

Matthew Motley speaks with Dr. Alex Lapins, associate professor of Tuba/Euphonium at UTK, about Knoxville's first Tuba Christmas since 2019.

Tuba Christmas makes its triumphant return on Saturday November 29th. For participants registration is at 9:30am, followed by a 10am rehearsal. The concert will be at noon and is free and open to the public.

Matthew Motley

A Kansas native, Matthew began his journey south by attending the University of Georgia. It was here that he got his start in public radio, working on WUGA’s classical program Night Music. After graduating in 2024 with degrees in music and computer science, Matthew joined WUOT as host of the Afternoon Concert.
