The Amadeus Concert Ensemble presents a program of music by Polish composers on Sunday, October 12th at 5:30pm. The concert will be performed at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, located on Northshore Dr. in Knoxville, as part of the Cathedral Concert Series. On the program are: symphonic pieces by Moritz Moszkowski, three songs by Frederic Chopin with orchestral arrangements by Brian Salesky, two instrumental works by Henryk Wieniawski featuring violinist, Zofia Glashauser as soloist, and selections from Stanislaw Moniuszko's opera, Halka, which has become known as "The Polish National Opera." The vocal soloists will be soprano, Linda Barnett, alto, Diana Salesky, tenor, John Overholt, and baritone, Joel Brown.

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
