Get inspired by the natural beauty of the Smokies while watching talented artists bring landscapes to life, brushstroke by brushstroke. As part of Plein Air Smokies, all Featured Artists will be demonstrating their craft outdoors around Tremont’s scenic campus in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This is a unique opportunity to observe a range of artistic styles, engage with the artists, and learn more about plein air techniques, all while immersed in one of the most picturesque locations in the Smokies. This event is free and open to the public. Simply bring your curiosity and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.
About Plein Air Smokies
Twenty nationally acclaimed artists will set up their easels across Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the surrounding region on Sept. 19–26 for Plein Air Smokies, a weeklong celebration of art, landscape, and the practice of painting outdoors.

Plein Air Smokies is hosted by Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, a nonprofit outdoor school located inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Proceeds support Tremont’s hands-on outdoor education programs through scholarships, allowing more people to connect deeply with nature.
