The Oak Ridge Community Band will present a very special concert on Sunday afternoon, April 19, at 2 pm in the Performing Arts Center of Oak Ridge High School, 1450 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge. With generous support from the Oak Ridge Fund for Community Excellence and the East Tennessee foundation, the band under new conductor Bill Kerr will perform a program to promote music education and will give children the opportunity to try out different band instruments in the "petting zoo" during intermission. This FREE event is designed for families and music lovers of all ages and includes a giveaway in which a family or child will have the chance to conduct the band.
