Mag Comic Expo

Mag Comic Expo

Mark your calendars.

The 5th Annual Mag Comic Expo is coming to the Magnolia Avenue Campus on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free! All ages are welcome. And this year promises to be out of this world fantastic! Come be MUTANTS with us!

LIVE MUSIC 🎸 The Community Room stage goes all day. Rus Harper and the Knoxville Freaks kick things off with high-energy punk. The Robyn James Ensembles follows with stunning string arrangements of pop-culture favorites. Mal-Nombre closes it out with a soulful, funkadelic set you won't want to miss.

GAMES & ACTIVITIES 🎮 Token Game Tavern and Space Bar bring free-to-play arcade cabinets. Good Times GameHouse runs board game demos all day. Social Deduction Knoxville hosts social logic games. Mike Williams — of Hillbillies vs. Aliens fame — debuts a brand-new game. Competitive players can enter the Magic: The Gathering Commanders Tournament hosted by Level Up Games.

COSPLAY CONTEST 👾 Dress as your favorite character and compete for prizes. All fandoms, all costumes, all welcome. Folks will be playing all day. It's like a mini-Halloween. Well, this time of year, perhaps Walpurgisnacht! The other Halloween!🧙‍♀️ 🎃 🪄🌿🐝

FILM & HORROR 🎬 Professor Jeepers hosts a screening of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. PSCC Libraries curates a full day of cinema — golden age horror and sci-fi classics running all day long.

WORKSHOP Patricia Gillam leads a Creative Writing and Publishing workshop for anyone interested in the craft and business of storytelling.

KIDS CORNER Fulton High School brings a dedicated Kids Corner for our youngest attendees. Hosted by the student operated Fulton Comics Club!

FOOD 🌮 The Potato Chef Food Truck will be on site serving deep fried spuds (and fixins') all day.

AFTER PARTY 🍿 The expo ends. The night doesn't. Join the crowd for the official after party hosted by alumni-owned Nirvana Comics Knoxville and Central

Cinema — Happy Holler's legendary neighborhood movie-house. They're screening TOTAL RECALL, serving up the best popcorn in Knoxville, and packing the house with a gnarly crowd of cinephiles. Details dropping soon.

COMMUNITY & CAREERS This event is more than a pop-culture festival. Come learn about Pellissippi State programs, student opportunities, and career immersion. Talk directly with local business owners, artists, authors, and cinephiles about building careers in the pop-culture industry. This is real-world connection in a genuinely fun setting.

VOLUNTEER WITH US 🙋 Want to be part of the action? We need volunteers to help make the 5th Annual Mag Comic Expo run smoothly. Volunteer roles include guest check-in, vendor support, activity room assistance, cosplay contest coordination, and general floor support throughout the day.
It's a great opportunity to get involved, earn service hours, and spend the day in the middle of one of Knoxville's best community events.
