Organist Christopher Houlihan performs at Westminster Presbyterian Church

Ali Winberry

Organist Christopher Houlihan performs all over the world and has been called the "Fred Astaire" of the pipe organ, playing the instrument with the technical prowess of a rock star.  Tonight at 8pm, you have the chance to see and hear him give a concert at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.  Highlights of his 2015-2016 season include recitals from Las Vegas to Brooklyn, a debut recital at the Kennedy Center, and the release of an all-Bach CD.  Tonight's program will feature works by Bach, Vierne, Leo Sowerby, and more.  Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 6500 Northshore Drive. More information on this event can be found on Christopher's website at christopherhoulihan.com

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
