Tanya Gabrielian on Her Duty as a Pianist

Tanya Gabrielian returns to the Tennessee Theatre stage to perform Tchaikovsky's iconic Piano Concerto No. 1 along with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for the March Moxley Carmichael Masterworks concert. The program will also include a nod to Women's History Month with the Overture to the Boatswain's Mate by Dame Ethel Smyth. The overture features the composer's noted "March of the Women" anthem used throughout the women's suffrage movement, of which Smyth was an active participant. The Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms will conclude the program. This interview features Clara Prinston in conversation with Aram Demirjian and Tanya Gabrielian, via Zoom.
