HealthConnections: Is Home-Based Care a New Normal?

The move to home-based care got a big boost during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now there are questions about the sustainability and demand for this model of care delivery and whether home-based care could be a new normal. There are barriers that impede the growth of home-based care. We also need to assess if the evidence supports embracing home-based care as a cost-effective, high-quality alternative to more traditional health care delivery. Dr. Carole Myers, Professor Emerita in the University of Tennessee College of Nursing, speaks with Kevin Riddleberger, a co-founder and chief strategy officer for DispatchHealth, which has entered the Knoxville-area market.
