Quantum Canvases: Writer Lucy Caldwell on her Collaboration with the Physics Laboratory CERN
In collaboration with the UT Humanities Center, the UT Department of Physics and Astronomy is hosting a series of public events called Quantum Canvases to explore the intersection of Physics, the Arts, and the Humanities. Scheduled between October 19-23, events range from discussions of injecting hard science into science fiction to exploring the physics of music and the music of physics on the dance floor.
Join us on October 22 at Union Avenue Books, where Lucy Caldwell will read from Collision: Stories from the Science of CERN. Caldwell was one of many authors who collaborated with CERN scientists on this collection of stories inspired by work at this premier research facility. At 6 PM there will be a book signing and a meet-and-greet at Knox Brew Hub (421 Union Avenue).
If you'd like to learn more about science fiction and physics, come to the UT Student Union at 1:30 PM on October 23 to hear from Caldwell and UT/CERN physicists for a conversation/Q&A.
All events are free and open to the public!
