Voices Rediscovered: A Viola Ensemble Celebration of Women Composers. The Knoxville Chamber Music Society presents a striking program spanning five centuries of music by women composers, performed by an all-star viola ensemble. From Maddalena Casulana—the first woman to have her music published in the Western tradition—to contemporary voices such as Jennifer Higdon and Katrina Wreede, the concert traces a remarkable, often overlooked lineage of composers. The program also features music by Martha Callison Horst, Sakari Dixon Vanderveer, Elaine Fine, Florence Price, and Elizabeth Rennie.
