Traditional Irish Arts of Knoxville is proud to present a duo of America's finest traditional Irish musicians. Fiddler Dylan Foley and pianist Colman Connelly will bring the tunes of Ireland to Knoxville, TN, for a night of world-class music. Join us Friday, September 12, at the Historic Laurel Theater. The performance will begin at 8 pm.
Dylan Foley is one of the great fiddle players of our time, a four-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, delighting audiences from Lincoln Center to Irish Television channels RTE and TG4. Dylan was recently featured in a Television series “Mr. Mercedes” starring Brendan Gleeson. Foley travelled with Mick Moloney in 2013, to Vietnam as part of Irish Aid. He teaches and performs at the major Irish music summer camps on both sides of the Atlantic. A member of The Yanks, the hot trad band that has been called “the next Irish American dream team.” Dylan is committed to passing on the tradition, as it was graciously passed to him, by the incomparable Rose Flanagan, Fr. Charlie Coen, and others. You can hear his passion for the music in the intense drive of his lively and fluid playing.
Colman Connolly, 2021 All-Ireland Accompaniment Winner, is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and
producer, currently studying Audio Production and Data Science at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Hailing from a family of American and Irish folk musicians, Colman now enjoys playing with accomplished folk musicians in Nashville and Boston. In his free time, he writes and produces songs for himself and others and leads the Low Darts, a 70s classics cover band.
