Oak Ridge City Schools are considering major changes to the school calendar. Next month, an automated survey will ask parents for their thoughts on the possible changes.
TheKnoxville News Sentinel reports that school administrators are considering what’s called a balanced calendar: School would begin two weeks earlier than the current August 3rd, and the current weeklong spring and fall breaks would become two-week breaks.
Parents will be surveyed by the school system’s automated phone alert system at 6 pm on February 10th.
Any changes to the calendar would go into effect in August 2015.
