On May 15th & 16th, Marble City Opera presented the professional premiere of "Sweets by Kate," a chamber opera by Griffin Candey. The opera tells the story of Elizabeth and Kate, two women who inherit a candy shop, and now must wrangle with disapproving townsfolk,  the precarious state of the store, and the deal Elizabeth's family made with the Devil--or Carl, as he prefers to be called in this show.
