Thanksgiving Day 2019 Specials

We invite you to spend your Thanksgiving with your public radio family, as we have a number of wonderful specials to help you celebrate the day including the annual live Splendid Table Turkey Confidential broadcast!

A Feast for the Ears - 9-11 a.m.
As families come together and give thanks, A Feast for the Ears helps set the atmosphere and provide deeper meaning to the Thanksgiving holiday. The program reflects on the rich history and traditions of this well-loved American holiday and highlights music by American composers such as Aaron Copeland, Virgil Thomson, William Billings and Charles Ives.

Every Good Thing - 11 a.m.-noon
This Thanksgiving, host Andrea Blain and classical music fans from around the country take time to give thanks and celebrate one of life's most meaningful gifts: music. Audiences will hear listeners from across the U.S. share stories about their favorite classical music pieces.

The Splendid Table's LIVE Turkey Confidential - Noon-2 p.m.

Turkey Confidential is The Splendid Table’s annual live Thanksgiving call-in show. Francis Lam takes calls and comes to the rescue of Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers, and dinner guests during the biggest cooking day of the year. This year’s special guests include Melissa Clark, Samin Nosrat, Kwame Onwuachi, and Shauna Sever.

Giving Thanks: A Celebration of Fall, Food & Gratitude - 2-4 p.m.
Giving Thanks offers a contemporary celebration of gratitude, with classical music and stories of Thanksgiving.  Great American writers will grace us this Thanksgiving, 2019. Giving Thanks remembers poet Mary Oliver as she reads poems of gratitude and nature. Walt Whitman stops by to celebrate Thanksgiving and his 200th birthday, and we'll set a place at the table for New Yorker writer, best-selling author, humorist, and turkey aficionado Adam Gopnik.
