The Choir of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, Knoxville, will present a meditative and peaceful Evensong service, featuring choral music by Sir Charles Stanford, Jonathan Dove, and Philip Radcliffe. The choir will be accompanied by music associate and organist Eunjin Choi, who will also perform an organ prelude beginning ten minutes before the service. In this interview, music director, Jason Overall, explains what Evensong is, talks about the cathedral's new music series, "Chords for the Community", and discusses other music-related events that will be taking place at the cathedral this Spring. The Evensong service is free and open to the public and begins at 5pm on Sunday, February 3rd.

St. John's Episcopal Cathedral is located at 413 Cumberland Ave in downtown Knoxville. More information is available at www.stjohnscathedral.org

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
