Tennessee is one of five states that will share $28 million in funding to help preserve the state’s wetlands. The Migratory Bird Conservation Commission has approved that funding to buy more than 9,000 acres in the National Wildlife Refuge System in Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, Florida and Louisiana. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency plans to protect 200 acres in the Bark Camp Barrens area and another 209 acres on the Forked Deer River.
