Young Knoxville Musicians to Take their Mission Across the Pond

Gregg Perry

In this interview, Clara Prinston sits down with harpist Kari Novilla and cellist Josie Campbell to discuss their upcoming plans for the future as young classical musicians. Both Kari and Josie are set to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London, England to pursue their postgraduate degrees. In fact, they will be roommates!

Kari, a recent graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, will be presenting a final solo recital this coming Sunday, August 1st at Faith Lutheran in Farragut, Tennessee at 4pm. This recital, free of charge, will feature music of Edvard Grieg and other French works. Josie Campbell, a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will be attending the Royal Academy as a Marshall Scholar. As one of 46 American students granted the prestigious award and only the third UTK student to receive the award since its inception in 1953, she joins a highly achieving class of graduate students bound for the United Kingdom.
