Tessa Lark Under an Open Sky: KSO to Perform Music of Michael Torke

Lauren Desberg

Violinist Tessa Lark returns to the Tennessee Theatre stage to perform with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in their final Masterworks concert of the 2020-2021 season. The program will feature "Sky," a violin concerto written by American composer Michael Torke for Tessa Lark. The Grammy-nominated piece is an hommage to Lark's home state of Kentucky, featuring bluegrass and folk inspired musical elements. Following the concerto, KSO music director Aram Demirjian will lead the orchestra in a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 2. In this conversation, Demirjian and Lark speak with Clara Prinston about the love they share for the music-making process. For concert and ticketing information, visit www.knoxvillesymphony.com.
