From Papers To Pixels: Bringing Historical Record Into The Digital Age

http://www.knoxlib.org/about/support-library/library-foundation/papers-pixels-campaign

The Knox County Public Library is partnering with NewsBank to create a digital archive of the Knoxville News Sentinel, for the years 1922 through 1990. The project is called From Papers to Pixels, and the library is in the midst of a huge fundraising campaign to pay for the result. WUOT’s Chrissy Keuper spoke with Mary Pom Claiborne (Marketing and Community Relations Director for the Knox County Public Library) and Sam Venable (retired Knoxville News Sentinel columnist and the Board Chair for the campaign) about the project and the campaign…

Chrissy served as WUOT's News Director and host of monthly public affairs talk show Dialogue from late 2021 to early 2023. Her first job with the station was as weekend student announcer while earning her bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. She had previously been the station's local host for NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered news programs; occasionally filled in as host for WUOT's Morning and Afternoon Concerts; and won multiple awards for her interviews, feature stories, and Dialogue.
