The Method: Science Collaborations and Studying Tennessee's Twisters

Brandon Hollingsworth, WUOT News

Early this year, virologist Colleen Jonsson moved from Kentucky to Knoxville, to become the new director of NIMBioS. That’s the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis, located on the University of Tennessee campus. WUOT’s ChrissyKeuper spoke with Jonsson about the institute and her plans for its future.

Plus: Native Marylander Vinny Brown finds himself fascinated with the weather here in Tennessee - specifically, the state’s tornado patterns. His research is aimed at finding better ways to see and predict tornado trends across the state, ultimately protecting more lives and raising public awareness. He speaks with Method host Brandon Hollingsworth.

And hey! Chrissy hears more from Dr. Jonsson in this extended version of their talk.
