At a certain point, Karen Pershing says, the public gets tired of hearing medical and governmental leaders talk about opioid addiction, and want to know what's being done about it.
Pershing, head of the Metro Drug Coalition, knows the feeling. Though addressing the various forms and effects of opioid abuse is difficult, she and others believe it's not impossible. Bringing together different community partners is the whole point of All4Knox, a program that unites people from government, health care, education, faith and the general community in a collaborative attack on opioid addiction.
Pershing and Knox County Health Department Director Martha Buchanan join Dr. Carole Myers for a discussion about All4Knox in this edition of HealthConnections.
