HealthConnections: Health Care and the Election

On November 3, the nation will vote to determine who will be President of the United States for next four years.

While the major-party presidential contenders have not made health care a front-and-center issue this year, the topic is a perennial priority for voters.  In this election, Donald Trump and Joe Biden offer starkly different approaches for health care.

On top of that, a week after election day, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on a critical lawsuit about the Affordable Care Act. That suit centers on the individual mandate and challenges the constitutionality of the entire ACA.

In this edition of HealthConnections, Dr. Carole Myers of the University of Tennessee College of Nursing delivers a primer on the two candidates' ideas for health care, and takes a closer look at the ACA suit.
