Ace Edewards Named As Afternoon Concert Host

WUOT is excited to announce our new Afternoon Concert host,  Ace Edewards.

Ace Edewards was born in California but was raised in France. His music studies have brought him to Le Centre d’Études Supèrieures de Musique et Dance in Toulouse, France; the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, in Glasgow, Scotland; and the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. In December of 2015, Ace received his doctoral degree in orchestral conducting from the Fred Fox School of Music at the University of Arizona.

Since graduating, audiences have seen him conduct critically acclaimed performances with Marble City Opera and Opera in the Ozarks; symphonic concerts with the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra and Summerville Orchestra; and an opera premiere at the International Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado in Àlamos, Mexico. Most recently, he was a cover conductor for Sarasota Opera.

Here in Knoxville, Ace has taught at Pellissippi State Community College and is a conductor of the Scruffy City Orchestra.

"I love classical music, teaching people about classical music and the community of Knoxville. Being the host of the Afternoon Concert will bring all these together and I'm so excited to share it all with the listening audience of WUOT."

Ace will start hosting Afternoon Concert  in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
