marblecityopera.com

Marble City Opera presents Lily: Her Life, His Music, October 29th and 30th at 7:30pm at Flying Anvil Theatre. Created by award-winning mezzo-soprano Audrey Babcock and stage directed by James Marvel, this one-woman musical drama uses the music of Kurt Weill to tell the story of a fictional cabaret singer named Lily Weiss. With video projections created by Katy Tucker and sound design by David Majzlin, this multimedia production follows Lily's journey from the cabarets of 1930's pre-war Berlin to the brothels of Paris and ultimately to America as she flees the Nazi regime.  Music director and pianist Ray Fellman plays the role of Joe while providing the accompaniment to this production.

General admission tickets are available, as is a videostream option. More information is available at http://marblecityopera.com

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
