The most recent edition of the Pew Center’s Religious Landscape Survey confirms what other polls have shown in recent years: Americans are increasingly likely to answer “none,” when asked about their religious affiliation. And while Tennessee and the South are more religious than other parts of the nation, fewer people are hanging on to the tenets of that old time religion.

On this edition of Dialogue, an examination of faith in Tennessee, 2015. Host Brandon Hollingsworth is joined by Rev. Bruce Spangler and Dr. Tricia Bruce. Spangler is the author of a series of books examining Biblical texts through an Appalachian filter, and Dr. Bruce is an associate professor of sociology at Maryville College. Her specialties include the sociology of religious faith.
