A new experiment is underway at the University of Tennessee’s Forensic Anthropology Center, at the world-famous “Body Farm”.

Anthropology graduate student Katie Corcoran is studying four new graves, specifically mass graves. Corcoran and her team are measuring the changes that occur as the human remains deteriorate.

Corcoran and Devin White, a Senior Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, spoke with WUOT’s Chrissy Keuper about the experiment and the technology they’re putting to use…

Chrissy is WUOT's News Director and host of monthly public affairs talk show Dialogue. Her first job with the station was as weekend student announcer while earning her bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. She has been the station's local host for NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered news programs; occasionally fills in as host for WUOT's Morning and Afternoon Concerts; and has won multiple awards for her interviews, feature stories, and Dialogue.
