From the Manager's Desk

A couple of “bragging points” to share this month!

Ever wonder how WUOT “stacks up” next to other NPR stations? Well, the answer to that question is “very well!” The results of the most recent audience ratings for public radio (Winter 2008 Arbitron) were released last month and WUOT ranked among the top 30 public radio stations in two different metrics!

WUOT was ranked in 17th place in Metro Average Quarter Hour Share, ahead of stations such as WWNO in New Orleans, WABE in Atlanta, WPLN in Nashville and other top-performing stations. Share is the station’s percentage of persons listening to radio in the market.

WUOT also ranked 24th in Metro Cume Rating, ahead of WETA in Washington, D.C., WCPN in Cleveland, WFAE in Charlotte, KPBS in San Diego and other public stations throughout the country. Rating refers to the percentage of the population in a station’s market that is listening to your station.

We thank all of our listeners for helping WUOT rank among the top listened-to public radio stations in the country!

And there’s more good news: Within the last few months, there have been TWO WUOT listeners who have won the Weekend Edition Sunday Puzzle! The Sunday Puzzle gets hundreds of entries every week and we think it’s wonderful that two of our own listeners came up winners! Congratulations to WUOT listeners Ben Hochman and Doris Gove for showing NPR listeners everywhere how smart WUOT listeners are! We encourage all of you to participate in the NPR fun -- Ben and Doris have proved that you CAN win!
