Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series presents the season finale on May 17 & 18 at the Tennessee Theatre. KSO Music Director Lucas Richman will lead the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performing Thomas’ Mignon Overture, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with Martina Filjak, Lalo’s Le Roi d'Ys Overture and Debussy’s La Mer. Concerts begin at 8:00 PM, with a pre-concert chat at 7:00 PM.

The Knoxville chapter of AIGA (the American Institute of Graphic Artists) is thrilled to announce Knoxville's Second Annual Design Week, the biggest design event in East TN, running from May 14th - 18th.

Stop by Market Square between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m and join us for coffee and biscuits before Mayor Rogero bestows awards upon the best-dressed bike commuters. Bike convoys will be leaving from points North, South, East, and West in time to arrive for the festivities in Market Square.

Secrets about moonshiners, ghost stories from the past, true histories about our people and our rich mountain culture will be presented Friday evening, May 18 during Tellico Tales. In it's fourth year, Tellico Tales will presented by Bill Landry, the voice and co-producer of the Emmy Award winning Heartland television series. Landry will go deep into the stories that made the Heartland series famous. Tellico Tales will be held at the First Baptist Church in Tellico Village, May 18 at 7 PM. The 2012 Smoky Mountain Highland Games is a three-day event where attendees can experience a 'Gathering of the Scottish Clans,' one big family reunion with excitement, education and entertainment. The Games are centered around a field of athletic competition, along with music and dance competitions. The event's entertainment will include country dancing, bands, balladeers, comedians, a dog show, a kid's playground, and clan competitions. An element of educational learning will be available for guests who find their last name on one of the Clans' tents: learning your family history and how it relates to the Clan. Visitors will leave the Smoky Mountain Highland Games with a fun, educational experience and a since of what it means to be Scottish.

With more than 800 miles of fishable streams holding rainbow, native brook, and brown trout, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is well-known for its excellent trout fishing. Trout Fest, also known as the Great Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing Exposition, provides avid fly fisherman in the region a chance to enjoy their valued sport surrounded the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains.

The proceeds from the three-day event are donated to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Fisheries Department, Friends of the Smokies Fisheries Scholarship Fund, and other youth educational conservation projects.
